I've always believed in the importance of local businesses contributing positively towards their community in which they live and work for two reasons mainly:
- Obviously, it's always great to be part of something that improves your local area and to help people around you. For me, this just comes naturally.
- It's good marketing! Supporting local your local communities is usually one of our recommended actions when formulating a marketing plan for our clients.
How we support our local community
Whenever I'm presented with an opportunity to contribute to a local cause, it's very rare that I will turn it down! Here's some of what I've been up to in 2024...
Volunteering at Penistone Scouts
It has been a great experience and a pleasure to volunteer for Penistone Scouts as their Social Media Manager and volunteering as a leader on trips and camps.

Filming of Penistone's Remembrance Sunday Parade 2024
Penistone Town Council instructed Pennine SEO to film and photograph Penistone's Remembrance Sunday Parade for the second year. It was a very moving event with a great turnout.
Filming of Penistone's Tractor Run and Christmas Lights Switch On Event 2024
Organised by The Tractor Lads Around Penistone, we were instructed for the second year running to film this magical event.
IT Support for the Elderly
On a few occasions by word of mouth I have asked to visit elderly residents' homes to help them with various "tech issues". These have ranged from regaining access to hacked social media profiles, optimising computers to help them run faster, setting up new computers, setting up cloud storage and teaching them how to use it. I usually do a thorough security check too and give valuable advice on how to keep them safe from various cyber attacks.
Plans for 2025
We will continue to support our local community wherever possible. Things in the pipeline include:
- Filming major local events.
- Continue acting as social media manager at Penistone Scouts.
- Giving talks to local schools & colleges about the digital marketing industry.
- Volunteering as an "on-call" firefighter at Penistone Fire Station. Yep! It's something I've always wanted to do so, 2025 is the year I'm gonna do it!
